Bravo Fleet
Summary
Renato Jose Gutierrez-Lopez was born and raise in Mendoza, Argentina. He comes from a proud Starfleet Family. Most members of his family are part of Starfleet. Most of them joined after the event of 2385 with the Synth Attack.
He decided to join when he was old enough. From a young age, he felt the calling to protect the Federation from hostile forces. He worked his way up the ranks, to the position of Commanding Officer, he is at Starfleet Command. He has just completed the Command Academy, and waits for his first assignment.
Renato is not on alone, he is supported by his loving wife Rosa and his five children, however only two children currently live with them the rest are adults. Candelaria 16 and Ariana 12. He’s currently in command of the USS Paso Robles.
Appearance
Renato is in good shape for his age, raising two teenage daughters has definitely kept him physically fit over the years. He has white hair that he’s had ever since he was 16 years old he always teases his girls that someday they might inherit his white hair.
Renato has an average build with little body fat. He can be seen running down the corridors in the morning to stay and fit and shape but he’s not a avid gym user. He is more about natural strength and natural body

Personality
Renato or Ren as he goes by with his friends, is a pretty laid back type of personality during his off hours. He is very approachable during this time, however during working hours, he is very by the book type of character. He finds this helps him find balance in his life.
Ren loves to play fútbol. He loves the great outdoors, going on hikes, camping on the trails are some of his favorite past time hobbies. He is very active it goes with his laid back type of persona. He can be a little competitive, but in a fun loving way.
Renato’s family is everything to him, there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for his family. He loves his wife Rosa and his five children especially loves his two children Candelaria and Ariana, that still live with him.
History
Renato Jose Gutierrez-Lopez was born in 2359 in Mendoza, Argentina. Prior to the events of 2385, his family had very little interest in Starfleet. The way they saw the universe was, that everyone was trying to destroy the paradise they had. The Borg, Klingons, Romulans, Dominion and now the Synthetic Lifeforms that they created.
After the Synth Attack his family shifted their priority to join Starfleet and help protect the Federation, from anyone who would threaten to hurt the Federation Ideals.
In 2377 just a couple years removed, from the Dominion War, Ren decided to join Starfleet Academy. He felt the calling to join Starfleet. Partially because he was an explorer at heart. And to help defend the ideals of the Federation. His family was supportive, but at the time they did not join. He was the only member of his family to do so.
In 2378 Renato married his high school sweetheart Rosa Martinez, she moved from their hometown of Mendoza, Argentina to San Francisco, California. She became a chef just outside of the academy and she spent as much time as she could with the run out though for the next couple years.
In 2379 they had their first child, his name was Tulio Martin Gutierrez. Rosa spent most of her time raising their new child and attending work, while Renato continued his studies in the academy.
In 2380 they gave birth to their second child Chevela Esperanza Gutierrez. Time for a little stressful for the family this first year raising two young kids and attending his senior year at the Academy and her full-time job and being a full-time mother.
By 2381 Ren completed Starfleet Academy and started his career in Starfleet. He was a security Officer aboard the USS Davenport. The main focus of the vessel was scientific exploration. He served on the Davenport until 2388 when he was offered the Chief of Security aboard the USS Valor.
During his time on the Davenport, his wife Rosa and their two children Chavela and Tulio join him on the USS Davenport. He served there for the next 7 years and works his way up to chief of security.
In 2382 Rosa and Renato gave birth to their third child, Simon Rafael Gutierrez. During this time the family started to look at their next command opportunity, because the Davenport couldn’t offer them any more space and it was getting a little crowded.
By 2385 Renato served in the position of Chief of Security aboard the USS Valor. On the Valor he learned valuable diplomacy skills, and operational command procedures. He also went on several away missions. Most of the missions on the Valor, were about boarder patrols and defense.
By 2386 Renato and Rosa gave birth to their fourth child Candelaria Lolina Gutierrez. This ship accommodated their family to expand without feeling cluttered.
By 2390 Renato and Rosa gave birth to their fifth child and their final child. Her name was Ariana Ada Gutierrez
By 2392 Ren was offered a chance to serve as Second Officer and Chief of Security and Tactical aboard the USS Horizon. He was given more opportunity to hone his skills in leadership, he spent more time learning command protocols, and leadership skills.
His family once again joined him on the USS Horizon another family of five operated and functioned together as a cohesive unit. They spent several years aboard the Horizon where a lot of the kids started to think that ship was now home.
By 2396 Ren was promoted to Executive Officer of the USS Tianjin. He spent the next four years learning under the great Captain Abigail Montgomery, he felt really drawn to her. She was his mentor and dear friend, almost like a second mother to her.
By 2397 their oldest son Julio was not old enough to join the academy, it was hard for Renato and Rosa to say goodbye to their son but they needed that he would be starting his own career in strategic operations and making his own path just like their father had.
By 2398 their second child Chevela also doing starfleet, she went into the medical professional field. And again it was really hard for Renato and Rosa to say goodbye to their second child.
By 2399 Renato learned about Commodore Oh’s betrayal of the Federation how she ended up being a spy for the Romulan Empire. He also learned that the sent attack was caused by them. This angered him deeply, because for many years he supported the federation’s need to protect its own borders and cut back on its exploration program. He learned it with all the rules to try to stop synthetic life from being developed in the Federation because of a unrational fear that the romulans had. He had a hard time accepting this reality.
Renato learn to adapt, and it wasn’t till 2401 at the Battle of frontiers day where you would really be tested like never before. Watching his fellow officers attack each other because the young were assimilated by the Borg, took its emotional toll on him. Starfleet also had a call for new officers because a lot of senior officers were killed.
By the summer of 2401 Captain Abigail Montgomery practically had to kick him off the Tianjin, she knew he was ready to command a ship of his own. Also during this time he also had to say goodbye to his third child Simon he was going to start his career in Starfleet Academy and he was going to go into the science division at this time run out to attended the command Academy program.
His mentor and his friend Abigail advised him that he needed to go to the command Academy and become a captain he was ready. He didn’t feel like he was. After having three of his children already in the academy two young ones needing constant attention plus his own struggles he reluctantly agreed to go to the academy and his wife Rosa realize she couldn’t help him that he needed a processes and it’d be easier for him if she went back home.
Renato visited Rosa and his children is too younger ones in Argentina when he could when he was at the Academy. She had left him to fend for himself and to process what have been going on around him. This time was a revelation for him. And he had hoped that he would come back to him once he received some of the help he needed.
He started to go into counseling, and he passed the academy now at the top of his class but he passed around middle of his class.
