Dr Reyna Paldor

Dr. Reyna Paldor was born in 2360 in Rigel V. A daughter of a Rigelian scientist and an Orion merchant she has two very different heritages growing up. Especially as her parents believed she should embrace both. This was difficult at a young age but she did find a balance. Her Rigelian upbringing gave her a fierce discipline in her work and research, while her Orion side gave her a heightened ability to deal with people and difficult situations.

From an early age, Reyna, gained a fascination with medicine, She would often shadow doctors and medical staff at local clinics and hospitals. By the time she was in her teens she became to assist with them. It was clear what direction she wanted to take her life.

At 21 Reyna Paldor was accepted into Starfleet Academy’s Medical Program and she began her training with them in 2381. Her initial officer training being conducted on Earth in San Francisco’s Starfleet Academy facility and Starfleet Medical. She majored in Xenomedicine.

A note from her professors during this time gave credit to her ability to work under pressure in almost any situation and often excelled where other fell during stressful situations. She particularly excelled in field medicine and became an ideal candidate for away team missions.

She remained on Earth for her first posting, opting for a position at Starfleet Medical Headquarters she honed her abilities within one of its trauma departments. During these years she developed her knowledge immensely. As one of the premier facilities in the Federation, she was treating survivors of deep space accidents as well as officers returning from dangerous assignments.

During the evacuation crisis in Romulan space in the 2390s she was heavily involved in the care of displaced people from this event.

In 2393 she was promoted to full Lieutenant and given increasing leadership responsibility. She could be found often mentoring and training junior medical officers, even when off duty.

During the 2390s she looked to the stars, wanting to experience medicine out there and take her knowledge with her. She had a series of short postings to starships, going where she felt she was needed most. She became a frequent member of away teams, volunteering for the duty whenever she could.

From 2399 to 2401, she served aboard a specific medical vessel which was assigned to disaster response. She personally coordinated emergency medical care in a multitude of situations, both on the vessel and on worlds visited too. She earned her promotion to Lt Cdr in 2401.

She joined the crew of the USS San Clemente as the Chief Medical Officer on board in 2402. The first time she held the Chief position but her experience within her field meant she was a clear choice.

She quickly became a solid member of the crew. During their fist mission to restore communication relays near Deep Space 17, Dr Paldor was instrumental in crew readiness prior and when confronted by the unknown.
