Summary
Cho has grown in confidence since being assigned to the USS Jaxartes as the ships Communications Officer, and is currently in a relationship with the ships Helm Officer Ensign Chad Harris.
Her love for the young New Zealander has however brought her into conflict with her family, who have a very different view on who and what her future should include.
Appearance
Female of Korean decent. 1.45m in height, slim with slender arms and legs. Long black hair, brown eyes.
Personality
Once regarded as the quietest most unassuming member of the crew, Cho’s confidence and ability to make her presences know has started to build as she strives to become her own person and carve out a career in Starfleet.
History
Cho Hwa-yeon, only child of Chin-Hae and Eun-Sook. Both parents where only in their late teens at the time of her birth and lived within a rural farming colony established by their grandparents; consisting almost entirely of people with Korean decent and other neighbouring Asian countries.
Her schooling was providing through a combination of teachers within the community and virtual lessons via sub space.
Cho’s skills as a linguist became evident at the age of 15 when she was able to spot a fault in the Universal Translator which was being used during trading with alien species preventing a potential volatile misunderstanding.
Attended Star Fleet Academy at Mellstoxx III from March 2396.
