Crew Quarters / Dock – 10:30

Jonathan prepared himself to leave the Starbase and move on to his next venture. He was offered the position rather quickly, and he felt that he worked hard for it. He was still very invested in his science background, and that part of him would never leave, but to be in command of his own ship was his next step.

He gathered his things and threw his last bag over his shoulder, pausing to notice that the room was just as clean as when he entered it, grabbing the PADD from the table, he headed out the door.

Starbase 1 was busier than usual, it was a time of change and the federation was more on edge than he had ever noticed. “What a time to be taking a new ship!” he thought to himself.

Walking around and passing everyone his head was deep in thought, he was wondering what the next few years would bring, his previous posting on the USS Exeter threw him into situations he didn’t think would happen, but he still came out with his head high.

The USS Burbank was offered to him by the admiral, he felt, on a desperate motive, that the fleet needed more ships, the federation was expanding and more civilisations required help every other day, the fitting of the newly built California class was perfect for this purpose, transporting anything and everything needed through some of the heavy missions, although not as required as some of the larger ships, he was hoping to at least make a dent in the fleet.

His PADD beeped and notified him that it was time to meet his handover on the ship itself, his new crew whom he briefly researched by reading up on them prior was dotted around this Starbase somewhere, he had not seen them yet but he had been quite recluse over the past few days with formulating his movements.

The USS Burbank docked last night after being signed off by the engineering and deployment teams, it was ready and retrofitted with some new technology that had been recently tested in the field, he had also heard that his new CE was keen to get going with a new toy to play with.

Approaching the checkout desk, he inputted his details into the system and it guided him towards the docking port, he wasn’t sure who he was to meet but knowing someone would be there waiting he proceeded to find them.

Reflecting on his first mission in his head while he was walking, it seemed simple, Betazed needed some sensitive supplies that the science and medical teams in Star Fleet had been working on, he wasn’t sure exactly what they were but it seemed a great starting point to get the crew embedded together.

Johnathon reached the dock loading bay and he could just about see his new ship through the narrow window, it took him a moment to take it all in, what his next steps forward from this point he didn’t know.

Leaning forward he pressed the airlock button, the small compressions of air flew past his ears and the first door opened, he stepped in, bag over his shoulder and stood there, waiting for the door to close and the next one to open for his next venture.
