USS Odyssey

The USS Odyssey (NCC-80000) is an Odyssey-class Federation starship and was the prototype for the class. The Odyssey is a deep space explorer known for its exploits in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants from 2387-2399. Commanded by Fleet Captain James Preston McCallister, the ship is one of Starfleet’s most advanced vessels operating in the fleet. The crew is also one of the most diverse where the bulk of the crew comprises those who served on the USS Triton and the last ship named USS Odyssey. The vessel was launched in 2387 with McCallister as its captain. Since the start of the 25th century, it has been a critical player in Starfleet’s attempts to explore the Delta Quadrant. It is now the flagship of the Odyssey Heavy Explorer Squadron.

The ship’s motto is based on the poem by T. S. Elliot named Little Gidding.

Odyssey Heavy Explorer Squadron

The Odyssey Squadron is a formation centred around the starship USS Odyssey, the prototype of the Odyssey-class explorer. It is currently under the command of Commodore James Preston McCallister. The squadron was assigned as a deep space expeditionary force within the Delta Quadrant. Assembled at the end of 2400, the squadron was ordered to proceed to the Swallow Nebula region beyond the Gradin Belt to begin re-exploration efforts. The squadron was assigned directly to Fourth Fleet Operations and not one of the fleet’s task forces; it also works closely with the Delta Exploration Initiative.
