You’ve just arrived on Khitomer, as the shimmer of the transporter beam dissolves around you. The air is warm, and thick with the smell of conifer trees, as a breeze flows over the tall grass of the field you’ve landed in. Across the clearing, a group of Klingon warriors stand laughing and pointing at you and those around you. One of them crosses the field and hands someone in your group a crude leather bag. Within it you find a spool of rope, a compass, a flint and steel, and a hatchet. He points to the top of a mountain peak in the distance. “Your goal is to make it there before we do, and bring back your opponent’s flag,” he grunts, then turns his back on the group and walks back across the field. From behind the trees somewhere, a horn sounds, and the Klingons immediately begin running for the forest’s edge.
