The Culver City is a California-class utility cruiser, outfitted in an engineering-support configuration, currently attached to Task Force 86.
The Culver City is an engineering-support variant of the California-class, specializing in technical support and hardware and software repair, replacement, and upgrade missions for colony worlds within Task Force 86’s area of responsibility, in addition to general second-contact and fleet support functions. While some of Culver City’s missions are fairly straightforward for her class and profile, even a California-class ship on the frontier will sometimes be called beyond her scope, whether that be to rescue a ship in distress, study the wreckage of a long-past battle, or support preparations for conferences, and will sometimes stumble into things as well. Additionally, she has a very young (and inexperienced) senior staff and short-handed crew at the moment, so really anything could happen….
