As the expansion of the Underspace into the Alpha and Beta quadrants threatened to upend the fabric of galaxy, the USS Serenity and the USS Ingenuity embedded with the Cardassians, feigning support for the Union’s plan to collapse the Underspace while secretly plotting against them. As the Cardassians set their plan in motion though, they were discovered, and a spiteful Gul opened fire on the pair of ships with a resonance pulse, forcefully ejected them from the Underspace in the middle of nowhere.

The USS Serenity and the USS Ingenuity now find themselves six thousand light years from Federation space, working to recover from the damage of the forceful ejection while struggling to cope with the reality that they’re stranded in the depths of the Beta Quadrant. Meanwhile, the rest of Polaris Squadron regroups at Archanis Station, clueless to the fate of the USS Serenity and the USS Ingenuity. While the door to the labyrinth has closed, a small team from the USS Polaris sets off to Montana Station in search of answers.
