The Vaadwaur are gone, and a wall has been built to stop the Underspace from ever returning, but for the peoples of the Alpha and Beta Quadrant, nothing will ever be the same.

In the aftermath of the war, Polaris Squadron takes on the USS Vesta and USS Juno. Where new ties are forged though, others have been lost. The USS Serenity is gone, Captain Lewis and his crew giving their lives in a critical moment to ensure they saw victory against the Vaadwaur. While history will look on them as heroes, those who are left behind must cope with the grief, the guilt, and a dissonance between the hero they want to remember and the darkness that lay behind the man at the center of it all. There’re quieter issues too, a timeline broken by the flap of a butterfly’s wings, and in response, and Fleet Admiral Reyes establishes a new unit and procures an Aquarius-class escort, the Procyon, as their platform.

Archanis Station faces struggles of its own too, both the outward ones of a station left in tatters and a population scarred by occupation, and the more personal ones, the loss of not just friends and colleagues, but in the case of Ambassador Michael Drake and JAG Prosector Robert Drake, the death of daughter and sister, Fleet Captain Elsie Drake. Meanwhile, for Vice Admiral Grayson, a man who has shaped his entire being around preserving life over all, what has happened and the personal tortures he’s endured weigh heavy on him.

What lies ahead, no one knows, but what is certain is that it’ll be some time before any sense of normalcy returns for those who call Polaris Squadron or the Archanis Sector home.
